How to contribute

This toolkit is part of the OuiShare Commons! It can only be useful if it is a living document, which is taken care of by the community and fed with regular updates. We've chosen Gitbook as the platform for this toolkit because it makes it easy to discuss changes and maintain a dynamic document that looks pretty :).
This is your toolkit, we encourage you to contribute!
We look forward to your suggestions & contributions.

1. Updating this Toolkit

a) Small changes / comments

If you have comments and suggestions for small improvements on a specific section of this toolkit, please use the comment function visible with the + that appears on the right hand side when you hover over the text. A Toolkit Maintainer will respond to your proposals as soon as possible.

b) Large changes

If you have larger changes and additions and would like editing access to this toolkit, send an email to the Toolkit Maintainer, who will add you as a contributor to the OuiShare Organization on Gitbook.
If you are ready to edit, please:
  • Respect the existing structure of the Toolkit when making changes
  • coordinate with the Toolkit Maintainers before making large changes to existing parts, such as restructuring or deleting sections
  • let a Toolkit Maintainer know after you have created a new section
You have default editing access to this toolkit if you are a member of the OuiShare Organization on Github.

2. Updating Templates

A key component of this toolkit are the reusable templates, which are all gathered in directory "Resources & Templates" and a shared Google Drive called "Open Source Fest". You are invited to help us keep them relevant and up to date by following the editing guidelines under a) and b) below.
OuiShare Connectors and active members have default editing access to the Open Source Fest templates. If you are not part of the OuiShare drive and would like editing access, send an email to the Toolkit Maintainer.

a) Small changes

can be made immediately. Small changes are for example: errors like typos, broken links, adding columns, new sections, improving formatting.

b) Improved & new versions of templates

If you have a new and improved version of a template, feel free to add it directly in the google drive in the same folder and include the month_year in the file name. Do not delete the old template. Please also send a Toolkit Maintainer the template link, so they can add it in the toolkit itself.
